A birthday meal, three people in the party. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, the chef anxiously skilled. Not the largest facility but a great atmosphere. If you appreciate good food this is the place. Well worth the price.

A hidden gem in the heart of London, Ontario. Once you push the doors of David’s Bistro, you’re in a different world, you leave the dirty and unsafe streets of London and you enter a very cozy and comfortable space, it feels like you’re in a Parisian bistro. Food is delicious, they have daily specials that are wonderful. Very elaborate plates, great balance in flavours and textures. Very nice wine menu as well. Great selection of European wines but not only. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely go back.

There are numerous restaurants here in London. But there can only be a top five.... David’s Bistro makes that cut. For the past year, I’ve avoided David’s because I am a picky eater and only enjoy certain ingredients. Right now, their dishes suit my taste. David, the owner, greeted me with warm welcome. We’ve known each other for a while. Like most fine dining establishments, David’s will hang up your coat. After sitting you down, they will bring you as much bread as you want. It IS divine. Their menu includes an impressive array of wine and liqueurs, and several appetizers and entrees each. I ordered two appetizers to start. A duck and pistachio terrine came first. I sliced the terrine and placed it on a grilled baguette along with cognac orange marmalade. The other appetizer was a French onion tart with Marsala braised onions and mornay sauce. The tart was made of puff pastry. My entree was a boar belly on squash risotto with sage, bacon, and Parmesan. The boar was juicy and still tender, giving the perfect texture. Dessert was a dark chocolate marquise. It had hints of orange zest, very much like a Terry’s Chocalate Orange. The inside is classy. On their sound system, they play instrumental jazz. This complements the art-covered walls. Incidentally, servers dress up in business attire. David’s Bistro is and has been a premium restaurant for years. Newspapers and industry experts believe this day and age is the end of fine dining. David’s website acknowledges this, but they don’t plan to stop. Help them prove critics wrong.

Wonderful experience being served by David himself. Very personable & informative. 100% trust in him to choose my meal for me and it did not disappoint. The duck confit was yum after every single bite. Lyonnaise Salad was delightful as well. Also if you like a Manhattan cocktail - they make a mean one!! I recommend!!

I haven't been here in years. Staff were amazing and friendly. It is a quaint spot, for intimate conversations. The food was amazing and the waiter knew about celiac disease, where he said most dishes can be adjusted. It was a wonderful experience and somewhere that I will be coming back again

David’s Bistro is the real deal. Easily top 3 restaurants in London for fine dining. We came here for Valentine’s Day dinner and were absolutely floored by the quality of the food. We got the mushroom toast to start, followed by the scallops and chicken mains, and ending off with the sticky toffee pudding. Everything was well seasoned, excellently flavoured, and simply mind-blowing quality. The mushroom toast was hearty, umami-rich, and the crunch of the toast provided good textural contrast. The scallops (with the vegetable medley) was very well seasoned, and the flavour of the vegetables was well highlighted by the brown butter sauce. The crispy roasted chicken, which came with a double smoked bacon mushroom whiskey sauce, had an excellent harmony of flavours. The dessert was simply divine, with the home-made bourbon ice cream enhancing the dark richness of the toffee pudding. 5/5, would return again.

As usual an experience worth searching for. A last minute decision to eat out led to a hopeful request for a table. Always accomodating we sat at the "emergency table" by the kitchen. It just added to the experience. The staff obviously enjoy working here! It is expressed in the attention, "family" ambiance and sense of humor while having an elevated dining experience. The food is always amazing!

Had a birthday to celebrate and decided on a downtown fav that we hadn't been to in years. When were last there, the menu was only on the wall and it changed with seasons, if not daily. I was impressed with the menu and they offered a Price Fixe menu with 2 or three items with a reasonable price of 40 or 50 bucks. I started with a bourbon old fashioned that was different and delicious and my bride had a cosmopolitan. Appys were excellent, including the special black pasta and shrimp and my warm salad that was excellent. My bride had the scallops, that she does everytime and was happy. I had the steak and was slightly disappointed with the cold unseasoned veg but the steak was exactly as ordered and yummy. My daughter had the cod and loved every ounce including the polenta. Dessert was the sticky toffee pudding and creme caramel and both were excellent. Place was very busy and parking is tough unless you get a spot right out front. Most street parking is 2 hours free until 6pm then free after that, so you're good, just drop off and find a spot.
